Shimozono Eiko's Kizuna
I came across this photo exhibit Kizuna online. It's beautiful while a little bit scary that makes you feel a tingle of excitement.
It's a collection of portraits, whom photographer Shimozono Eiko asked people on the street to take part in. I first thought she picked people who seem to be living with some thoughts against the world, but as the photographer said and as she went on with this project, she captured a variety of different people depending on her state of mind.
Here are some photos I especially liked... the first one I think, is especially beautiful.
This is the author. She also looks mystical and like a Japanese doll that would wake up at night and walk around the house...

New shoes from Rabbit HK
I got these shoes in preparation for this summer. As I am determined to buy local stuff as much as possible, I went back to Rabbit in Causeway Bay and bought these old mother looking red sandals, which I dearly hope won't make my legs look fat, and white sandals that the shopkeeper told me were intentionally dirtied (really?).

Lunch break apartment therapy
During a lunch break in the office cubicle or when I'm really beat from overwork, Apartment Therapy can be so therapeutic.
This apartment is extremely small but utilizes space in a genius way. I couldn't believe at the size of the apartment (look at the last sketch!).
Really interesting how he did not use the long room as the living room and bedroom as the meeting area.

Cosmic
I don't know why I continue to want these Christopher Kane shirts... I saw them early this year at a department store, and thought they were comical. Then last night, I saw a show about string theories and remembered them again.
Maybe this one is modest enough...? How does it not look like a souvenir from the natural history museum I wonder?

Beautiful strings
String theory has never sounded more beautiful than these words by Dr. Michio Kaku.
"What is physics? Physics is nothing but the laws of harmony that you can write on vibrating strings. What is chemistry? Chemistry is nothing but the melodies you can play on interacting vibrating strings. What is the universe? The universe is a symphony of vibrating strings. And then what is the mind of God that Albert Einstein eloquently wrote about for the last 30 years of his life? We now, for the first time in history have a candidate for the mind of God. It is, cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace."

More shopping from Tokyo
I was in Tokyo last weekend where I picked up a few shoes, accessories, and clothing. I am really liking Marui in Ginza, which is a store I would never admit I go there, but the one in Ginza is super. This headband is really great, making up for any mediocre hair (in case I don't get to fly to Tokyo as often for a haircut).
This white jacket is now my new favorite. It looks similar to the black one from my previous posting, but even more Chanel.
