Agriturismo at Lake Garda

In Garda Lake, we stayed on top of the hill overlooking lake, at an agriturismo called Cervano. It was indeed agri-turistic, with expected farm animals around from donkeys to goats to ponies. The place is gigantic and has been in posession of a guy named Gino ('s family for the last 200 years), who was super nice and also educational. He said all the villages around the lake live on top of the hill, because the area used to be divided into two districts, the other side being Venetian until Napoleon took over and unified. Because of the divide, there were pirates from both sides crossing the lake thus it was more convenient to be vigilant from way above so that you can prepare for any raids. He said the raids have stopped once the area was unified, because you will get caught under the same law. Very logical (and educational, for us!).

Danish castle hotel

We stopped by a Danish castle turned into hotel on the way to Sweden. The building was full of light and had an especially beautiful dining hall. The garden behind was exquisite with a small pond in the middle.

There were also a number of themed houses spread out around the garden, I assume in the manner of Marie Antoinette's farm house at the Versaille. The end of the garden overlooked the ocean. Why not!

Last stay in our mini German tour

We stayed the night in this little old German town before making our last stop in Eisenach to conclude our mini German tour. It seems to be similar to the case of other well preserved places, that these formerly east German villages did not have the money to renew the buildings, thus have been fortunate to preserve the old look.

Our hotel was a former castle and had a mini moat in the back. Lovely place with surprisingly good French like German food restaurant.

Noshiyu ryokan

Kurokawa Onsen (in my dictionary) is the most perfect little hotspring town (in the world). The ryokan Noshiyu is an agglomeration of everything traditional, comfortable, and chic paying tribute to genuinely old and traditional things and scenes.

The lounge was particularly nice to spend time to relax..

Devasom Hua Hin Resort

While Hua Hin, a few hours off of Bangkok is not a resorty place, this hotel certainly pampered us well. When in Hua Hin, just stay here and don't go out ;)

There's something special about the Hong Kong Peninsula

I don't know why, but there is something about the Peninsula Hotel that puts a smile on one's face. I (self) invited myself to dinner today with my dad's business people, to the Chinese restaurant Spring Moon at the Peninsula. It was not just good food but a really nice ambiance that makes people happy (real fine dining, if anybody still uses that word). The entrance looks a little like Hong Kong's China Club, with old and beautiful Shanghainese style furnishing. I haven't had sparrow's nest in a long time, and the soup was just, beautiful. Apparently their dim sum is really good too, so I shall try one of these weekends...

I checked in at the Sentosa Capella in Singapore

I had forgotten how nice it is to stay at such a splendid hotel. This hotel definitely ranks top 3 of my list, in my entire life. The room smells like jasmine and has a view overlooking the water, with a bathtub and shower facing outside. You can see the three pools that are also just... just, so nice. How I wish I could always come to these places at my whim!
