I just happened to come across this article by Harper's Bazaar. Chanel had her 130th birthday this past week on August 19, and I thought the quotes she left were brilliant.

Te Cuero in Ibiza

This is the most perfect shop to buy nice leather items during a vacation (and in Spain!). The son has taken over as the artisan, and you can ask for any kind of design of your liking. I got a small attache case with beautiful brown leather and a green baseball looking ball. Be careful that the shop has a nice long siesta break from 2-7pm, so shop before you eat your jamon at Bar Costa around the corner.

Lunch time shopping #4: Light brown Kate Spade

On Friday, I went downstairs to run a quick errand, but look what I got instead. This is the (nice) fate of working right above the Pacific Place mall in HK.

Garden of Eden, a super cute jewelry shop across the Mekong that you cannot reach without the bamboo bridge during rainy season

By chance, I came across this super cute jewelry shop that is run by a couple who learned jewelry making in Thailand and opened a shop in Luang Prabang a year ago.  The chunky necklace and rings were my favorite, but really, you will find your favorite piece.

To get here, you have to cross the Mekong River by boat as there is no bamboo bridge during the rainy season. It was the most dangerous affair crossing the Mekong when it was pitch black outside and of course there is no safety mechanism if you fall into the water. Anyway, I am alive and this place is most worth the visit.

What's extremely interesting about these are that they are camel leather and that they don't have a left shoe from right shoe & they're both the same shape yet they are very comfortable to wear.

Lunch time shopping #3 - Pedder RED Shoes

Perfect blend between ballerina shoes and man shoes... and it has heels! From Camper. 

New find shoes that every fashion person has started wearing last year in Europe

Finally, a comfortable pair of flat shoes from Camper. I tried on so many shoes at the Camper shop in CWB in HK that half way through I knew I couldn't leave the shop without buying a pair (or two). Thanks to the shop person for wearing these and inspiring me. Now I know what the fuss is about this type of shoes (yes the cat shoes).

Mom's kimono

Mom and I dug out the kimonos sleeping at our place in Tokyo. All of them were really exquisite, and I really look forward to wearing them someday. As it goes with these kimonos, they cost as much as a car and you really need to take care of them with expert knowledge. To avoid all the hassle, I bought two simpler kimonos (one is even washable by yourself) and a very nice obi belt to practice wearing them, and will come back for these someday...

I always cringe when people wear shoes on tatami mats, but what can you do when it's Karl Lagerfeld. From 2013 spring summer collection.



I like the furniture in here. The line is really clean. It goes nicely with the splash of color from the accessory items.

New jeans from J Brand

I get a surge of adrenaline when Lane Crawford goes on sale. And then, I can't stop buying every other day, from a different branch of Lane Crawford. These pants above are from Lane Crawford at IFC. I got another pair yesterday too, from the LAB at Admiralty which is a sister brand of Lane Crawford. They have to stop the sale, otherwise, I will own every single color of whatever pants that fit me...

It's hard to see but the dark blue pants is from J Brand. They fit really well. The lighter star strutted jeans are a French brand (I think). I can't wait to wear them regularly. Shopping makes me look so forward to vacations.

Alpaca snood is done now

My alpaca snood is now done. It looks much smaller than the first one I made... I wonder if the structure is more elastic? In anycase, I am happy with this one too!

 My next project is another snood or scarf mixing gray alpaca x navy blue wool with a hint of mohair. I've focused so much today, I think I'm already half way... All I need is colder weather to appreciate it!

I'm knitting again. This time I used two strands of mohair and thicker sticks which I picked up in Sweden ... and now it's done!!

Airport pickup #3: LOEWE shades

I finally bought the LOEWE glasses at the airport. I've always passed by, tried them on, acknowledged that it fits me well and never picked them up. This time, I knew what to do. The shades fit well with the lovely pool side of the most perfect villa in Bali.

Squarestreet, a Swedish-Hong Kong label

I popped in a shop near my apartment in SOHO. It's on a street with some new shops popping up recently, called Square Street, off of Hollywood Road. You would notice a big Swedish map and a photo of the king and queen behind the nicely lined up leather products and watches. Apparently the design is done in Sweden and the products are made right there in the shop. I liked the simplicity of things and the concept.
