Coco Chanel quotes

I just happened to come across this article by Harper's Bazaar. Chanel had her 130th birthday this past week on August 19, and I thought the quotes she left were brilliant.

On making an effort: "Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman."

On age: “You can be gorgeous at thirty, charming at forty, and irresistible for the rest of your life.”

On luxury: "Some people think luxury is the opposite of poverty. It is not. It is the opposite of vulgarity."

On property: "It's not houses I love, it's the life I live in them."

On love: "Great loves too must be endured."

On success: “Success is most often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable.”
