Unsweetened oatmeal cookies

I made oatmeal cookies with drastically less sugar (for regular people, you can double or tripple the sugar and honey). Yum.

Ingredients: 80g oatmeals, 60g regular flour, 40g bread flour, 80g butter, 20g sugar, 10g honey, 1 egg, 1/2 tea spoon baking powder, 1 tea spoon each of cinnamon and cardamon, some walnuts.

Steps: 1) Mix the butter and sugar and honey until creamy, then add the egg. 2) In a separate bowl, mix the flour ingredients. 3) Add 2) to 1), then add oatmeals, cinnamon, cardamon, and walnuts. 4) Drop the dough on a cooking pan and press down with a fork into 5mm thickness. 5) Bake in 180 degrees oven for 17 minutes.

Frische Paradies in Frankfurt

I finally found a really nice fish market in Frankfurt.  They have every food that you wish to pick up before preparing a nice dinner for your friends.

The fish counter had salmon and tuna that were sashimi quality, so I did temaki sushi (handroll sushi) for dinner. For grilling, I picked up Steinbeusserloin and Zanderfilet, which I don't think I have ever eaten before but were recommended by the fish counter people, and were indeed super fresh and yum.

Do try this place!

Saalburg near Bad Homburg

I visited the edge of the old Roman fort in Germany called Saalburg near Bad Homburg. It was only a 30-minute drive from Frankfurt, and a very pleasant place to visit over a weekend. Amazing that this is part of a long wall called the Limes (like China's Great Wall) laid out in such a distance. Also incredible to think that this is from more than 2000 years ago. Interestingly, the walls are not so high, and are not meant to prevent attacks but more to notice trespassers.
