Goldfish Street

I walked around HK's goldfish street (not a market from hell but almost, with so many people), which was a weird but somewhat artistic experience.

I used to have these (guppie). It was pretty common for elementary school kids to have them in Japan then. I was always able to tell the difference between male and female, but now I can't...

Lovely HK-style packaging.

Chinese Bird Garden

I went to the bird garden in Kowloon this weekend. I got off one station too early and had to walk through this market (market from hell!) which was utter chaos. But once there, it was very peaceful. Many bird lovers were bringing their pet birds to show off.

It was nice to just sit there and hear them chirp.

It's shocking but very HK that there are vendors who sell quail eggs right next to the bird garden.

Shanghai Skyscraper

I was briefly in Beijing, Tianjing, Hefei, then reached Shanghai for a work trip. As I arrived, I immediately felt that Shanghai looked the most normal and livable out of all the Chinese cities, including Hong Kong. But one must not forget it is not normal at all, how much it developed over such a short period of time!

By the Water

This is my last weekend living in Indonesia...

Hanging Flowers

Karma Kandara

There is always a new discovery when I visit Bali, and this time was a hotel called Karma Kandara. I heard of this place from at least five different people. That there's a restaurant slash beach where you can completely avoid the hassle of having to secure an umbrella/seat for lazying on the beach.

Let me tell you that this was entirely beyond just that. It was a whole new discovery that Bali could look like Greece (specifically, my all-time favorite Hotel Katkies from San Torini).

From the restaurant on the cliff, it looked like we were overlooking the Mediterranean. It was simply breathtaking...

Once you stuff yourself with food and nice drinks worth $25 or so, you get an invitation to the beach below the cliff. Enjoy a cable car ride (380 steps if you walk) and sleep by the blue water...
