The Sartorialist in action! How he actually stops people, and takes a photo...
Funny that the girl who is asked to be taken a photo, is totally saying who-is-this-man.

Cute Italian MSGM
Did you know this label? It's an Italian label that only came out in 2008 after the crisis (crazy, given that it's not a cheap label). They are inspired by the likes of YSL and Chanel, and founded by Massimo Giorgetti as part of the Italian Paoloni Group. It looks completely wearable to me, and I really like the moderate mix and match.
This is one more reason to go vacation in Italy, but I found out they also sell at Lane Crawford here, so I must go check them out this week...

Lovely Scandi-looking house in Kamakura
A post from The Selby that looks like my childhood dream house. Half country side, inside swing, oversized stuffed animal, and lots of sunshine! The owner is Hitoshi Uchida, who runs an antique shop in Tokyo.

Happy thanksgiving!
I found another very nice restaurant in HK, and it's on the 49th floor. Very fun, and located inside the Upper House Hotel. Happy Turkey Day!

Somewhere in Italy...
Check out this webiste that my sister sent me. All the photos are incredibly beautiful. This place above is Riomaggiore, Italy. They only have a population of 1,694. I would truly like to go there soon...

Sámi people and the reindeers
Don't get me wrong, I'm not obsessed with deers and cows... it's just that the last posts have happened to be so. I was reading the National Geographic in my hotel room in Jakarta, and was struck by how beautiful and other worldly everything and everyone looked. They are the Sámi people who follow the reindeers to live, mostly in northern Sweden.

Amazingly, they have most likely settled in 10,000 BC, and are apparently the only official indigenous people in the nordic countries.

The Fawns
Cows are for bags too
Inspired by Elin Kling's tie dyed pants, which looks completely cow hide, I remembered about this bag made by my sweet Colombian friend Diana's cousin. I am told Colombia and Latin America have such good beef, they are not just good for eating but for bags too! Naturally, unstressed cows should have shiny skin...
I want pants like hers as well..

Jakarta is happy
I came shortly to Jakarta for a few meetings. My goodness how everyone looks happy, ready to make money here. Compared to a year ago when I left, there are way more visitors and they look way more prepared to profit from the growth story. During the few hours I worked from the hotel in the club lounge, the table next to me was interviewing for a new CEO for this Singaporean woman's outlet in Indonesia, and the table next to that was a group of Australians looking to dig natural resources. Happy days...

Singaporean TWG tea
This is a well known Singaporean tea, which I found a store at one of the department stores on Orchard Road. They sold tea the way Mariage Frere sells theirs, so I had to buy 3 packages (per 50g). My favorite was POLO Club, which smells like a nice blend of champagne and caramel, blended with green tea. Mmmmm.
I am in Singapore
I was in Singapore for a brief moment this week. It's actually like my 10th visit, but I never really spent more than half a day here, and it had always been night time.
This time, I remembered just in time about the Marlion, and the next moment I saw it in front of the Marina Hotel. It looked just like the lion head at the Ritz Carlton in Bali (didn't know what else to compare to!) :)

Surprise eye eyelash perm
Am I the only person who still does eyelash perm? And am I the only one who looks so surprised once after? I always debate whether to ask for "natural" or "dramatic"... and I always end up asking for "dramatic"... and then, I instantly regret that I look shockingly surprised. Here is a shot before dinner, hiding my shock eyes with makeup.
Outside of Japan, I usually get permed up at Browhaus, which is a Singaporean chain. In HK, there is one in SOHO and in Jakarta there is one at Senayan City (B1). I think their perm lasts the longest.

SOURiS DECOR on Peel Street
SOURiS DECOR is a furniture shop on Peel Street, and will soon be moving, in December. Apparently Peel Street is raising its rent by double. It's too bad that these good looking shops have to move, and only bars and mediocre but profitable shops come (and will go) instead...
I post here some of my favorite pieces, which if I had any space in my apartment at all, I will buy immediately. It's really reasonable, and looks mostly handcrafted in Indonesia and well made.

Bakery breakfast and Peel Street
This morning, I had to wake up early to make it to an 11am appointment for eyelash perm. On the way back, I picked up bread at a nearby really local bakery (on Gage Street, near Peel Street) and stopped by the furniture store SOURIS that's on my street. I was shocked to hear that they have to move because the rent is being doubled on Peel Street. I dearly hope they find another shop nearby...
Anyway, here is my breakfast at proper Punta Del Este time (1pm).

Punta Del Este
I found an old photo from a trip to Punta Del Este in Uruguay. I went there for new years' eve several years ago. The decadence of repeatedly waking at noon, going to the beach to nap, having lunch at 5pm, dinner at 11pm, and going out afterwards... I so wish I were there now, because this week was monumentally exhausting!

More shoes from Rabbit HK
I diligently bought Rabbit shoes again. This time, a very easy to wear camel flats and a pair of gray man shoes that look completely out of style. They are both extremely comfortable, and hopefully they can become my shoes on the airplane.
I completely ruined the previous white ones from my previous purchase, and had to abandon them in Stockholm. But they served me well, standing strong against the cobblestones and sometimes mountain hikes in northern Europe.
Rabbit now has 9 branches all over Hong Kong. I will list here a few.
Shop 209B-210, L2, Plaza Hollywood, Diamond Hill

I want a CHANEL jacket
I was shocked to find out that a CHANEL jacket actually costs about $5,000. I was eyeing to get one this year, and I had thought that I can get one for less than half of that... perhaps I should go for a second hand...
I also wonder whether the process of buying is fun. I just want to get it, rather than enjoy the moment of going to the shop and being treated nicely etc., which I'm sure is part of the value you pay.
But if it's like eating a $700 steak in Ginza, I know that the experience is fun. Or if it involves traveling to Paris, that should be fun too.
Anyway, these are what I am interested in right now... any other recommendations are most welcome. Moreover, ideas on where I can get them are most welcome too.
